Bandwidth Converter
Convert between bps, Kbps, Mbps, Gbps and bytes-per-second variants.
Convert any network speed between bits-per-second (bps, Kbps, Mbps, Gbps, Tbps) and bytes-per-second (Bps, KBps, MBps, GBps). Live grid shows all units side-by-side.
Common use cases
- Convert your ISP's advertised Mbps to MB/s download speed
- Compare two hosting plans listed in different bandwidth units
- Estimate streaming bandwidth for video conferencing or 4K streams
- Size a network link against expected throughput
Frequently asked questions
Mbps vs MBps?▾
Mbps is megabits per second (lowercase b); MBps is megabytes per second (uppercase B). 1 byte = 8 bits, so 100 Mbps = 12.5 MBps.
Decimal or binary?▾
Network speeds use decimal prefixes (1 Mbps = 10^6 bps). Storage uses binary (MiB = 2^20).
Why does my download show ~12.5 MB/s on 100 Mbps?▾
Because Mbps ÷ 8 ≈ MB/s. Real speeds are slightly lower after protocol overhead.
